Jury Convicts Lake City Woman in $2.9 Million Fraud Case
The U.S. Department of Justice reports in its press release (quotation, not an independent finding): “Jacksonville, Florida – A federal jury has found Treashonna P. Graham (42, Lake City) guilty of all charges in a 13-count indictment, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and multiple counts of wire fraud and money laundering. Graham faces up to 20 years in prison for the conspiracy and each wire fraud offense and up to 10 years’ imprisonment for each money laundering offense. Graham will be sentenced on January 19, 2027. U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement. According to court records, Graham and her conspirator/co-defendant, Joey Williams, created a company called “Grant Bae,” which purportedly assisted minority business owners to obtain government grants. Graham charged a fee for her services and advised clients that the company was in the process of obtaining grant money on their behalf. The evidence at trial proved that Graham never hired companies to help locate or obtain grants nor did she help to write any grant applications for her clients. More than 1,000 individuals were victimized by her fraudulent scheme. In total, Graham stole approximately $2,.9 million and used those funds to live an extravagant lifestyle. Graham used the fraudulent proceeds to purchase vehicles, jewelry, clothing, and other personal property. She also gambled away hundreds of thousands of dollars at local casinos. Williams previously pleaded guilty for his role in this case and is pending sentencing. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney ”
